The writing on the wall...

Lately I've been working on a few DIY projects that have added a little personalization to the house and the tiniest bit of organization.

I've been saving inspiration photos of chalkboards and chalkboard walls for awhile.  They are hot right now, I know.  I try not to do too many trends, but I do think chalkboards have a very classic, nostalgic feel to them.  It makes me think of elementary school, the first day of school, handwriting practice, tiny desks all in a row, brown lunch sacks, kickball, the last day of school, etc.  Mostly great memories...

I decided a chalkboard in the house was a fun way to bring a little whimsy and an easy way for Josh and I to have little fun with each other especially with hectic schedules.  I found a few inspiration photos to win Josh over on a absolute need for one.

Fun, right?  I know!  I'll give you the details of ours and how we made it tomorrow.

The final inspiration photo that made me smile...

Don't you just love that!?  Me too.  See you tomorrow!

Will you be mine?

My husband is not a fan of today.  And honestly, between you and me, I don't blame him.  I believe there is too much pressure on guys to make this one day a year 'special'.

In reality, everyday should be a day that you express love to the one that you love.

For me it's the day to day stuff that says I love you and it doesn't have to be a big production...just a simple note, text message, cup of coffee, kind word, or kiss on the forehead makes me incredibly happy.  Luckily I have found an amazing man that does/shows all of these things.  Mushy, I know...

However, I can't lie...the chocolates, brownies, candies, cookies, and flowers are definitely a perk on this #1 Hallmark card selling day.  It's not like I would turn them down or anything...let's be real!

Any of these little treats would certainly say I love you...

But, I'm not expecting them.

In fact, just the cup of coffee would be perfect for this Valentine's morning.

Ok, ok maybe in one of these would make it just a little more special...

All of this sweetness had to be shared on this very sweet day...but, it really doesn't get any sweeter than this.

Pug...with a heart!  I know.  I'm in love too.

Happy Valentine's my loves!

XOXO

My latest obsession...

I'm not cheating.  I swear.

I'm just tumbling.

What the...?

I know.  It didn't make much sense to me in the beginning either.  However, it's an addiction now.

I obsessed with Tumblr.  It's the coolest way to collect inspiration from all over the place.  It's basically an online notebook where you can collect or blog anything and everything that inspires you, you want to talk about or share, or hold on to for something down the road.  I started Tumbling to collect images for my blog and it's just gotten a little out of control.  Tumbling is fast and fun...and addictive.

If none of this makes any sense, check it out here...

This is where I keep finding inspiration for the guest bedroom...

And ideas for a future mudroom...

And cute craft and gift ideas...

Can you see how the obsession began?  It's just too fun to see what is posted everyday.  You can "follow" people that you like...who collect images that you like.  To view all of the images I have collected simply go to Southern Grace on Tumblr and click on the "Archive".

Now, if you end up joining and start Tumbling too...give a shout out my way and follow me there.  And then I'll see you at the next 12 step meeting..."Hi, I'm Natalie.  I'm a Tumblr."  I'll save you a seat.

It's true.  With Tumblr you'll end up with...

xoxo!
