1.11.11

Well, I have to admit...after checking my fave blogs last night and this morning, I'm starting to feel a little better about my absense lately.  Not that it gets me off the hook, and not to say that if the blog world all went and jumped off of a cliff, that I would too.

But, it's good to know that I am not the only one out there that is starting 2011 a little behind.

2011 has started with our New Year's cards still NOT in the mail, zero thank you notes for our Christmas gifts written or sent, our luggage still sitting in our laundry room from our trip to Jackson Hole after Christmas, and not even a single grocery store run in 2011 (so much for the New Year's diet).  Oh well!

This is life, right?

With all of it's imperfections and craziness, I am still pretty thankful right now.  My health has been a challenge since Thanksgiving and right now I'm taking each day as it comes.  That's basically all that I can do at the moment (not to get too serious on ya!).

I decided to do without the resolutions this year.  I'm pretty sure I have 2010's list around here somewhere and I'm just not up for seeing what I didn't get done over the past year only to make another list of crazy things for 2011.

I do, however, have a few projects that I want to work on in the New Year.

1. Redesign/redo our master bedroom.  We've left it open and incomplete since we moved into the new house and it's time to whip it into some loveliness for us to enjoy.

2. Add some finishing touches to the laundry room.  The meat and potatoes are there, but it needs some gravy and biscuits to make it really sparkle!  I also need to decide what I am going to do about the floor finally.

3. Frame pictures for around the house.  Family pics or art...either way...something needs to start going up on the walls!

4. Lighting...inside and out.  I want to decide on the outdoor lighting, get a few bids, and find lights for our front gate.  On the inside, I need to find lamps for most of our rooms.  The old lamps from college have to go.  Don't judge.

5. Organziation.  Enough said.

6. The extra guest room makeover.  The room is just sitting with very little in it.  I want it to be comfortable and inviting for guests this year.  Well, not too comfortable.

That list should be enough to get through this month.  Ha!  Only kidding.

We'll reevaluate next December and you can decide just how motivated I am and was.  Or, maybe this post will be accidentally deleted by then.  You never know.  Don't judge.

Happy 1/11/11!

xoxo
